Darrell's family comes from South Dakota. There he was raised by his mom Darla, on a dairy farm.
When our family was given the amazing blessing of our daughter. Darrell's mom lived with us for the first year of Alexandria's life. She has been an important part of our lives. She has taught our daughter feminity, how to play tricks, how to love our pets, and so much more.

Soon after Alexandria turned one Darla found an apartment less than five miles away, due to her health conditions. We started going over to her apartment on Sunday's after church and it's been fun to be part of her senior community.
About a year ago Darla was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer. She decided to take the recommended treatment of intense chemotherapy and radiation. It was challenging for her and she had very limited supports. Darrell and I were her basic support. The treatment had little benefit, but she was advised to try radiation again. The second treatment was stopped due to the intensity. She has been such a strong individual through this whole time of life. It's been a testament to God's grace that she still has smile on her face.
Emmanuel Christian Center has been an important part of this part of our life. We have had many leaders pray for us. We have leaned heavy on the message that we hear on Sundays and we carry that message to Darla and we have become a better family.
We are taking Darla to South Dakota for a last chance to visit her family. We are in need of help with some of our lodging and/or transportation.
Lodging-$418.00
Transportation-$444.00
Thank you so much for giving us a chance to share our story. We look forward to working with Emmanuel Christian Center to partner with us!
